The Story Behind GarageAI1

For more than 20 years, I’ve owned a 1978 Alfa Romeo Spider—a car I love and have invested countless hours and dollars into keeping on the road.

Years ago, I trusted a mechanic to repair my first Alfa Spider. I paid him more than $4,000, but the work was never completed. Instead, he convinced me to buy another Alfa from him for $10,000, claiming it was in better condition. In the process, I lost my original car, the money I had already paid, and much of the trust I had in the repair industry.

What hurt most wasn’t the money—it was feeling powerless. I didn’t know enough about the mechanical issues to challenge what I was being told.

That experience made me wonder: How many other people have felt the same way?

How many drivers have walked into a repair shop feeling confused, vulnerable, and unsure whether they were getting honest advice?

That question became the inspiration for GarageAI1.

I created GarageAI1 to give everyday drivers access to AI-powered vehicle diagnostics, clear explanations, and practical guidance before they visit a mechanic. Our mission is simple: help people better understand their vehicles, make informed decisions, and feel confident when facing repairs.

GarageAI1 was born from a frustrating personal experience, but its purpose is to ensure others don’t have to go through the same thing.
